The Scoring Tech Talent report is a comprehensive analysis of labour market conditions, costs, and qualities for highly skilled tech workers. The top 50 markets in the U.S. and Canada were ranked according to their competitive advantages and appeal to both employers and tech talent.
Vancouver ranked #8, the 2nd highest-ranked Canadian city, among the 50 top tech markets analyzed. Here are a few reasons why:
- Vancouver jumped three spots in the ranking to take #8, adding 44,460 jobs since 2016 or 63% growth, the highest percentage of all 50 ranked markets.
- Vancouver created substantially more jobs than tech degree graduates.
- Since 2016, Vancouver’s tech talent growth, primarily in the high-tech industry, has been a top driver of office leasing activity and rent growth.
